Underground filmmaker Shirley Clarke's rarely seen 1985 documentary is a portrait of Ornette Coleman. Using his composition "Skies of America" as a point of departure, Clarke explores a cinematic vocabulary that offers visual equivalents to Coleman's convention-defying sounds.
